A U.S. Marine who traveled from Las Vegas was arrested at Boston's Logan International when it was discovered that he had the following items in his checked baggage:

"...three model rocket engines containing an explosive mixture, military pull-type fuses, switches, electronics kit boxes with various components, and a hand grenade fuse assembly with detonator."

Even more disheartening, Las Vegas International Airport is moving forward with the new "in-line" checked baggage screening machines, in order to open up more room for slot machines. These machines allow for the screening of bags without having to physically handle them.

Given what just happened, maybe someone should re-evaluate this decision...

Many air rage incidents are actually customer service issues between flight attendants and passengers. However, in today's environment, the line between the two is very unclear. This recent incident of a passenger who needed to use the lavatory is a strong example of the confusion that exists.
